From Iran to Torrington — a life of discipline and heart

Master Ninoos Yousefzadeh was born in Iran and immigrated to the United States as a teenager around 1977. He built a successful life in Torrington through hard work, family values, and a deep love of martial arts. With over 50 years of martial arts experience, he is a 8th-degree black belt and a Martial Arts Hall of Fame member.

As head instructor and owner of Ninoos Martial Arts Studio and Fitness Center, he has trained hundreds of students — kids discovering confidence for the first time, teens building strength and focus, and adults reclaiming fitness and self-defense skills. Beyond the mats, Master Ninoos is a proud father, spouse, and entrepreneur. He also owns Nicholas Pizza House, the longest-running pizza house in Torrington — another symbol of his commitment to this community. His son, Nicholas, and his daughters, Jillian and Sarah, are black belts and still practice martial arts.
